Road Bans

Check the restrictions before you head out.

Traffic on MD roadways must be restricted on occasion due to construction, maintenance or seasonal conditions like spring thaw. Road Bans are implemented to restrict the weight of commercial vehicles and the goods they carry on municipal roadways. These restrictions are designed to help reduce wear and tear on some of our main thoroughfares and prolong their life span.
ROAD BAN ORDER NO. 2020-92 IS IN EFFECT AS OF 8:00 AM FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2020.

In accordance with the Traffic Safety Act, permits are required for all over-weight and over-dimensional loads. Please contact the Transportation Department for more information or to obtain a permit. This order rescinds all previous road ban orders and shall remain in effect until further notice. This ban has been approved by the MD Traffic Advisory Committee under MD Bylaw number 96-11.
