Arts & Culture

Abundant inspiration and entertainment opportunities.

In Lesser Slave River we play just as hard as they work. Regardless of the season, a spectrum of cultural activities can be found. Local individuals and groups play a vital role in the development of arts, culture and heritage in our unique boreal region.
TO HELP WITH DECISIONS ABOUT LARGE EVENTS DURING THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK, CHECK THE LATEST PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES FROM CANADA.CA.
Some exceptional acts venture here from all parts of Canada - and farther afield - to entertain and inspire. Looking for something different to see, hear and absorb? Visit this section for a growing list of cultural venues and organizations. Also, check out the MD's Events Calendar to see the arts & cultural opportunities coming up.

Considerations During COVID-19

To prevent the further spread of Covid-19, we strongly encourage everyone attending events to keep gatherings small and maintain a distance of at least two metres from others in accordance with public health guidelines.

The MD understands that the situation might be frustrating for those who wish to enjoy normal social activities. However, some facilities may be facing unforeseen challenges and determine that it is in the public’s best interest to cancel or reschedule activities

Please visit the websites of the individual event/activity providers, or consult the MD's COVID-19 Portal for more information.
